Wrestlemania Round Up

After almost a week’s media blackout, I eventually got around to watching the Wrestlemania 28 PPV.

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan

Blink and you missed it. Bryan was being pushed as the next Randy Savage going into this but he jobbed like Honky Tonk Man going up against the Ultimate Warrior.

Kane vs. Randy Orton

Better than it should have been, I was glad to see Kane take this one as I’ve never been a big fan of Randy.

Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes

There was no way Cody could have convincingly defeat the Big Show – and he didn’t.

Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres vs. Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos

…the less said, the better…

Triple H vs. The Undertaker

I hadn’t bought into The Undertaker’s need to face Hunter again, but this was a better match than last year’s and unsurprisingly ‘Taker is now 20-0 at Wrestlemania.

Team Laurinaitis vs. Team Long

A dull and messy match, but worth it to see Laurenaitis in his Brother Love suit.

Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk

What went wrong here? This was supposed to be a technical tour-de-force but it never got out of 3rd gear.

The Rock vs. John Cena

After a year of hype, there was now way this could disappoint… oh yeah.  Rock looked tired and his timing was off several times.  Cena took the fall but now has to come back to Monday Night Raw as a loser.

Did I regret coughing up the cash to see this?  No, it was a good show that was padded out with an hour of unnecessary dancing, singing and rapping.
